Butler Smith Piano Carriers are a small family run business, founded in 2012, however we as a company have a wealth of experience in the piano trade and transport that goes back generations with ... years of knowledge. We largely dedicate ourselves to the removal of pianos but we also specialise in the moving of antiques and other high valued items. Our business has contracts with some of the best manufactures and retailers, we are also lucky enough to have many clients coming to us from the entertainment world ........

Steve Butler the current managing director of Butler Smith Specialist Carriers Ltd has decades of experience in the piano moving industry, working as a father and son team in the 1990s, using an engineering background and practical approach to problem solving, Mike and Steve found that their skills were invaluable in moving these heavy and extremely fragile instruments. So much so that, we have often been asked to move pianos into locations when other experienced movers have failed. This level of success fills us with enormous amounts of pride in our work. Something that all our crew members feel when completing a job.
In our history, we have moved some of the most expensive instruments, to the most luxurious homes in the world. But even an old and battered piano, still has a huge personal value to its owners or family, and we take as much care with an old piano as we would with an expensive one.”

Mike Butler, sadly no longer with us, would be proud to see that currently both his sons and 2 of his grandsons are now part of the business that he helped to establish. The range of experience that our employees bring to our company is the background to our success. We have also added a range of piano moving equipment to assist in the manual handling and care of your valuable instrument.
